Tsurumi America has launched Avant MQ, its first line of submersible, explosion-proof pumps for large wastewater projects with strict technical demands, particularly in municipal and industrial markets.

Previously released in Asia and now making their North American debut, the pumps feature IE3 premium-efficiency motors, built to withstand continuous duty cycles. Dry-pit versions also feature an exclusive closed-loop-circuit cooling system, to prevent contamination from wastewater while the motor is cooled with a water-glycol mixture. Mechanical seals are installed in an oil chamber separated from the cooling system and can be changed without draining the system.

“These modern pumps will ensure energy savings on a number of projects, such as sewage collection from commercial buildings and municipal systems,” says Glenn Wieczorek, managing director at Tsurumi. “Customers also get the opportunity to build the exact pump they need, with a specific paint thickness or control panel type or a trimmed impeller to fit an exact duty point.”

Another option is a new high-strength material, Molib-tech, as an alternative to a conventional ceramic coating. It is designed to prevent serious wear due to abrasion or cavitation on the impellers, suction flanges and volutes.
